Why Rescue Homeless and Abandoned Cats?

Creature Comforts was started by Jennifer Greenspan in 1981. She saw starving cats in an old abandoned house. She started feeding them and was also loaned traps by a spay/neuter clinic. The next thing she knew she was taking the cats home and socializing them so they could get placed in homes. Jennifer got married and her husband Gary soon became a part of the rescue effort.

In 1991, The Mezshu Foundation for Creature Comforts was granted 501C-3 private non-profit status. Together Jennifer and Gary have spent thousands of hours caring for a variety of rescued animals, including horses bound for slaughter and unwanted farm animals. Due to changing circumstances, Jennifer and Gary felt they should focus on the plight of homeless cats. Through their efforts of providing medical care including spay/neuter, food, shelter, and placement in appropriate homes; they have helped countless abandoned cats and kittens.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Creature Comforts is to provide for welfare of stray and abandoned cats and to raise awareness of the plight of homeless cats.

Vision Statement

Our goal is to work towards creating a more humane environment by providing shelter, quality food, medical care, including spay and neuter. Every effort will be made to adopt each kitten and cat into an appropriate home.

Needs List

·       Quality dry and canned food for cats and kittens

·       Money for medical care, medicines, spay/neuter, and vet care

·       Structures of varying kinds to protect and shelter cats in harsh weather

Volunteers Needed

·       Feeders to help with feeding at designated locations

·       Trappers

·       Help for spay & neuter

·       Foster homes
